Read and decide

What is read, and what waits for a person

Every way a testimonial comes in, and for each kind of thing it can carry: what the AI reads for risk on its own, what it never reads, and what waits for a person. Typed words are read on arrival on Starter and Pro while the month's AI readings last. A video, a voice recording, a recorded answer, a photo, any other picture and a transcript are never read by AI, and each one waits for a person.

PlanEvery plan shows the table and each card's checks. The risk reading itself runs on Starter and Pro within the month's AI readings; the free plan carries none.

How it works

What is read, step by step

  1. One table, for every way in

The 9 ways a testimonial or an addition to one arrives are listed below, each with every kind of thing it can carry. The same table prints this page, the line on each card in your dashboard called "What was checked", and a column of the CSV export, so none of them can say more than another.

  2. Typed words: read on arrival while the month lasts

On Starter and Pro, typed words are read for risk as they arrive, while the month's AI readings last. The free plan carries no readings. Anything not read says so on its card, with the reason in its history, and waits for you.

  3. Recordings, pictures and transcripts: never read by AI

A video, a voice recording, a recorded interview answer, the writer's photo, an attached picture and a video's still are never read by AI, from any way in. A transcript is made only when a person asks for one, and it is not read for risk. Reading a transcript would be reading the words a machine wrote down, not an analysis of the recording itself, and Hazelsong does neither.

  4. Who approves

Only typed words that arrived through the collection form or the interview form can be approved without a person, and only by automatic moderation that the owner switched on. Everything else, from every other way in, waits for a person.

  5. What each card says was checked

Each testimonial's card lists what was actually done for it: whose permission is recorded and for which places; whether its typed words were read, and what was flagged; whether the writer's address was checked; whether the same words were already in the project; which recordings or pictures no AI read; and whether automatic moderation looked at it. The CSV export carries the same lines.

Collection form

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalA person, or automatic moderation you switched on
  • The writer's photoNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • An attached picture or a video's stillNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A video, recorded, uploaded or linkedNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A voice recordingNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A transcript, made on requestNever read by AIWaits for a person
Permission:
The writer's own sentence, for each place they checked.
Checked by rule:
permission for each place it may appear; the address checked for a throwaway-mail service or your own domain; the same words already in the project.
Limits:
Words up to 4,000 characters, within the plan's testimonials arriving a month and its AI readings.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings are spent, on the free plan (which carries none), or when the model does not answer, it is stored unread, its card says "Not read for risk", and it waits for a person. Words already in the project are not read a second time.

Interview form

  • Typed interview answersRead for risk on arrivalA person, or automatic moderation you switched on
  • Recorded interview answersNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A transcript, made on requestNever read by AIWaits for a person
Permission:
The writer's own sentence, for each place they checked.
Checked by rule:
permission for each place it may appear; the address checked; the same words already in the project.
Limits:
All answers read in one reading, together up to 4,000 characters.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings are spent, on the free plan (which carries none), or when the model does not answer, it is stored unread, its card says "Not read for risk", and it waits for a person. An interview answered only by recordings has no typed words and is not read.

One more question

  • A typed answer to one more questionRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
Permission:
Its own sentence from the writer, never wider than the testimonial's.
Checked by rule:
the link is open for this testimonial; permission for each place it may appear.
Limits:
An answer up to 2,000 characters, refused rather than cut.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's readings are spent or the model does not answer, the answer is kept unread and says so. A person adds it below the words, or not.

A video version, asked for afterward

  • A video version offered afterwardNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A transcript, made on requestNever read by AIWaits for a person
Permission:
Its own sentence from the writer for the video.
Checked by rule:
the link is open for this testimonial; the file is in this project's own storage, or a link to a video platform's player.
Limits:
One video per link; it arrives as an offer that nothing shows until a person adds it.
If the reading cannot run:
Not read by AI in any case. It waits as an offer for a person.

The API (also the Chrome extension and the Zapier app)

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
  • The writer's photoNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • An attached picture or a video's stillNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A video, recorded, uploaded or linkedNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A transcript, made on requestNever read by AIWaits for a person
Permission:
The business's statement that it holds the writer's written permission, or that the writer published it publicly first.
Checked by rule:
the stated permission basis; the address checked; the same words already in the project.
Limits:
Words up to 4,000 characters, within the account's API calls a month and its AI readings.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings are spent, on the free plan (which carries none), or when the model does not answer, it is stored unread, its card says "Not read for risk", and it waits for a person.

Import one (pasted, or saved with the bookmark)

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
  • An attached picture or a video's stillNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A video, recorded, uploaded or linkedNever read by AIWaits for a person
  • A transcript, made on requestNever read by AIWaits for a person
Permission:
The business's statement of the permission it rests on, word for word.
Checked by rule:
the stated permission basis; the same words already in the project.
Limits:
Words up to 4,000 characters.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings are spent, on the free plan (which carries none), or when the model does not answer, it is stored unread, its card says "Not read for risk", and it waits for a person. Words already in the project are not read a second time.

A pasted page, split into reviews

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
Permission:
The business's statement of the permission it rests on, word for word.
Checked by rule:
the stated permission basis; the same words already in the project or earlier on the page.
Limits:
Read 6 at a time.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings run out (at once on the free plan, which carries none), the import stops between groups and keeps what it saved; nothing more is stored unread. A review the model did not answer for is stored unread and says so.

A CSV file or a Google Takeout archive

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
Permission:
The business's statement of the permission it rests on, word for word.
Checked by rule:
the stated permission basis; the same words already in the project or earlier in the file.
Limits:
Up to 5,000 rows a file, words up to 4,000 characters, read 6 at a time.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings run out (at once on the free plan, which carries none), the file stops at that row and keeps the rows before it. A row the model did not answer for is stored unread and says so.

A feed, read every morning

  • Typed wordsRead for risk on arrivalWaits for a person
Permission:
The business's statement for the feed it connected.
Checked by rule:
the same words already in the project; words and name within bounds, refused rather than cut.
Limits:
Up to 25 entries a feed a day, words up to 4,000 characters.
If the reading cannot run:
When the month's AI readings are spent, on the free plan (which carries none), or when the model does not answer, it is stored unread, its card says "Not read for risk", and it waits for a person.

Safe by design

The rule that makes it safe to have

Clear boundaries

What it will not do

Every capability page ends with this list. It is the part that says what you are actually buying.

  • It does not claim any analysis of a video, a voice recording or a picture: no AI reads one, from any way in.
  • It does not read a transcript for risk, and reading one would not be an analysis of the recording.
  • It does not let anything but typed words from your collection form or interview form be approved without a person.
  • It does not verify that what a testimonial says is true, who wrote it, or that they bought anything.
  • It does not mark an unread testimonial as read and clear.

Questions

Asked about this

From Help, where every answer is written from the product as it runs.

What does Hazelsong check before publishing, and what does it not verify?

Before anything is public, Hazelsong checks three things: that its recorded permission (the writer's own sentence, or, for an import, the API or a feed, the business's statement that it has permission) allows the place it would appear, and it is served nowhere else; the risk reading of its typed words, when the month's AI readings allow, while a recording or a picture is never read by AI and anything not read says so; and that the business approved it, in person or through the automatic moderation it chose to switch on. Nothing is published before that approval. Hazelsong does not verify that what a testimonial says is true, who wrote it, or that they bought anything, beyond what its record shows: how it arrived (the business's collection page, an import, the API or a feed), its permission and when it was given, whether a reward was attached, and whether a second person approved it. Publishing through it is not an endorsement of any testimonial.

Can I fix a typo in a testimonial?

No. There is no route in this product — no dashboard control, no API field, no administrator, no support request — that can change a testimonial's text. That is the rule the whole product is built around, and it is checked in code rather than promised in a policy.

Then what do I do about a phone number somebody left in it?

Remove that span: press Check for things to remove for a proposal, or Remove a part yourself to select the words, which uses no AI reading. The span becomes [removed], every other character stays exactly as written, and the reader is told something was taken out. If a result differs from the original by a single word anywhere else, it is discarded rather than applied.

Can I shorten a long testimonial for a widget?

Not by storing a shorter version: nothing here can keep a cut-down copy as though it were what somebody wrote. What a layout may do is show less of it — the compact, marquee, toast and sidebar layouts stop a long testimonial at six lines, and there is no control that opens the rest. Every other layout shows the whole of it, so the choice to make here is the layout.
