For course creators

Ask at the end of module three, not at the end

The people most able to tell you the course worked are the ones who finished it, and they are the minority. The people in the middle of it are enthusiastic and reachable — ask them then.

  • 5 questions written for course creators, ready to put in your form
  • Their permission recorded in writing, and enforced everywhere this product shows it
  • Published exactly as they wrote it — never reworded, by anybody

The difficulty

Why it is hard here specifically

Asking everybody on the last day means asking the ten percent who got to the last day, months after they enrolled, when the feeling has cooled.

What Hazelsong does about it

  1. Ask at the moment something clicks

A link sent after the module where the penny usually drops gets a better answer than one sent at the end of everything.

  2. Two hundred at once, each with their own link

Paste the cohort. Everybody gets their own message and their own link; nobody is put in a line with anybody else.

  3. Video, from a phone, in a minute

A student's own face saying what changed is the thing your sales page cannot fake, and it is recorded in their browser with nothing to install.

To ask

The questions worth asking

Copy these into your form and change them to sound like you. Each is written to produce a sentence you could actually publish — the difference between a testimonial and a compliment.

  1. What made you enroll?
  2. What did you think this course would be, and what was it actually?
  3. Which part changed how you work?
  4. What have you made or done since?
  5. Who should take this, and who should not?

Limits, stated

The limit, said plainly

A discount or a bonus in exchange for a testimonial is allowed and is disclosed on every copy of it. Free access given before the words were written is the same thing and is disclosed the same way.

Your customers already wrote the words

Send one link and their words arrive here instead — with the date, with the permission, and read for risk before you publish.
